We are pleased to recognize the winners of the 2023 Scholastic Award competitions: Gracie Kane, a communications major and theatre minor from Indiana University Southeast; Caleb He, a political science major and Spanish minor from the University of Louisville; and Jasmina Harambasic, a psychology major with an emphasis in clinical and counseling and minors in anthropology and refugee and forced migration studies. Our winners were honored at our annual awards event in May, with each receiving a significant cash award. We also honored a Jefferson Community and Technical College student member of Phi Theta Kappa, the academic honor society of community colleges.

The Kentuckiana Association has hosted several Key Connections events in recent years, among them a baseball game at Slugger Field, a soccer match at Lynn Family Stadium, and a distillery tour on Whiskey Row. These events help welcome recent inductees in the greater Louisville area to Phi Beta Kappa.

Louisville Water Tower

September 20, 2024

​Twenty-seven members and guests toured the Louisville Water Tower, a National Historic Landmark and the oldest ornamental water tower in the world. Among the things we learned: during the era when steam powered the pumps, the tower was actually a pipe for the release of pressure. Following the tour, several members headed to Apocalypse Brew Works for a round of beers.
