About the event
Join the Phi Beta Kappa Association of Kentuckiana board for a tour of the historic Louisville Water Tower and the accompanying WaterWorks Museum. Following the tour, join us at Apocalypse Brew Works (1612 Mellwood Ave.) at around 6:45 p.m. for refreshments. If you’re unable to come to the tour, feel free to just join us at Apocalypse anyway!
Home of the iconic 185-foot water tower and the WaterWorks Museum, Louisville Water Tower is the site where Louisville Water’s operations began and is still in use today. This union of original architecture and modern innovation stands as a legacy of Louisville Water’s important role in the community – past, present, and future. Built in 1860, the Louisville Water Tower is the oldest ornamental water tower in the world and a designated National Historic Landmark.
The Water Tower advises guests to wear comfortable shoes. The walking portion of the tour should last around 45 minutes. There is plenty of parking on site. Please arrive a few minutes as the tour begins promptly at 5:30 p.m.
FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
