Through its Visiting Scholar Program, Phi Beta Kappa sponsors campus visits from distinguished scholars representing a variety of fields. In late September, the students and faculty of Centre College will host Dr. Daniel Hungerman, Professor of Economics at the University of Notre Dame, from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1. ​

On Sept. 30 Dr. Hungerman will deliver a public lecture on recent trends in U.S. charitable giving. Dr. Hungerman's research focuses on religion and philanthropy in the United States. He is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. His work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, USA Today, The Economist, Reader’s Digest, CNN, Fox News, and many other outlets.
